Two on Hooksett School Board say they're getting silent treatment

HOOKSETT — Two members of the Hooksett School Board are accusing board Chairman Trisha Korkosz of being non-responsive to their communication requests and making it difficult for them to conduct school business.

"(Korkosz's lack of responsiveness) has made it difficult at times to get information and do school business, I recent asked for the list of members of the policy committee, but I never got a response on that either," David Pearl said.

John Lyscars said that he only got a response from Korkosz regarding his recent requests after he contacted Superintendent Charles Littlefield by email — an email in which he stated that if Korkosz weren't willing to fulfill her duties as chair, Pearl, as vice-chair, would be a logical replacement for her.

Pearl said that Korkosz not only ignores requests for agenda items, but other requests as well.

"I do try to accommodate the two of them, if they ask for a item it is on the agenda. Our agenda for the Nov. 5 meeting will be released (today), and all of their requested items are on there," Korkosz said.

Korkosz said that nothing is ever as simple as it seems when it comes to Pearl and Lyscars.

"When I receive emails regarding items for the agenda, I forward the email to Kathy Richards and I cc the board. But I am not employed at a business where I sit and look at emails all day. if you email me in the morning and you don't receive a response in an hour or so, it's likely that I haven't seen it yet," Korkosz said.

Korkosz also said that her reticence in responding to emails from Pearl and Lyscars is drawn from the fact that she has been accused in the past by Pearl of conducting school business online.

"Well I don't do that, and I do not want to participate in online discussions about the business of the school board," Korkosz said.
