Dave Wihby, at-large member of the Manchester Board of School Committee, is a perennial favorite of this newspaper and city voters for good reason. He provides the kind of thoughtful, analytical service people always want, and which is too often in short supply.
Wihby came to the school board after18 years as an alderman, where he earned a reputation as a straight-shooter who was good with numbers and at building coalitions to get things done. He has continued that record on the school board.
Wihby is a frugal public servant who knows how to spend a dollar wisely. His focus on value to the taxpayer and the city, not just raw numbers, is serving the district well. Wihby’s sound stewardship has earned him another term on the school board.
