In Raymond, stolen street signs are a problem

RAYMOND — At least 17 street signs, stop signs and town line marker signs have been reported missing since August, according to Raymond police.

They began getting calls for missing street signs in the area of Lane and Batchelder roads on Aug. 14, and since then, the calls have not stopped coming in.

Police said the total losses of the thefts is quickly approaching $1,000.

Raymond Police have asked residents to be on a “vigilant lookout” for anyone they suspect of being responsible for the thefts, or if they see any suspicious activity.

Any Raymond Highway Department vehicles conducting needed maintenance on signs will typically do so during the day and in a marked vehicle.
