Groped in city alley
A 16-year-old female told police that a man groped her as she was walking in the alley between Amherst and Hanover streets Friday night. Police responding to Chestnut and Hanover streets at about 7:15 p.m. were told that as the teen walked east in the alley, a man approached her, blocking her passage and backing her against a wall.
She said he repeatedly grabbed at her buttocks, stopping only when she yelled. She said he then walked hurriedly toward Elm Street. She described the man as white, 30-40 years old, 5-foot-10, bald on the top of his head but with hair on the sides, and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark, bulky jacket and blue jeans and, possibly, glasses.
