Police: Elderly homeowner tussles with burglar


KEENE - An 81-year-old resident suffered minor injuries after tussling with a burglar Tuesday morning.

Police said the homeowner was treated by Keene fFire Department personnel and then released.

The elderly resident interrupted the burglary about 4:30 a.m. at the 15 Eastern Ave. home. The burglar ran out of the home with some of the homeowner's property, police said.

The burglar is described as a short white male with a medium build wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt.

A police dog was brought to the scene to try and track the burglar, but did not find him.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information concerning it is asked to call police at 603-357-9813.
