Reward offered for information on Claremont robbery

CLAREMONT — A $10,000 reward is offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the armed robbery of One Credit Union earlier this month.

The robbery of the credit union on Charlestown Road took place Oct. 11, a Friday, just before noon.

Police continue to investigate, but now One Credit Union has stepped forward with an offer of a $10,000 reward for information that will lead to the conviction of those responsible, Claremont Police Capt. Mark Chase said Friday.

"We're just looking for any assistance from the public that might know something or someone to come forward and do the right thing," Chase said.

Only one suspect robbed the credit union, using a handgun, but it is possible the robber had accomplices, Chase said.

"There may be other people involved," Chase said.

The investigation is progressing with the use of several leads, Chase said. "It's going forward, but at this point we don't have anybody in custody from it."

The suspect is described as someone in their 30s with a deep voice, Caucasian, between 5'6" and 5'10" in height, average build, brown eyebrows, and with brown hair with a forehead scar that is angled diagonally and ends above the left eyebrow.

The suspect was wearing dark shoes (possibly work boots), blue jeans, a winter coat with blue on sleeves and from chest up to shoulders and darker colored on the bottom half, dark ski mask, light colored hoodie and dark gloves.

The suspect was carrying a canvas tote bag with leather handles and a recycled shopping bag

The suspect fled the credit union on foot, but police said a four-door dark burgundy or dark brown sedan was possibly the getaway vehicle. The vehicle is also described as having tinted windows, a trunk, no spoiler on the back and black walled tires with aluminum rims.

The suspect got away with cash, but police are not releasing just how much cash was taken in the robbery, Chase said.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the Claremont Police Department at 603-542-9538.
