NH College Football Roundup: Dartmouth routs Columbia, 56-0

Dartmouth piled up 575 yards of offense while the defense limited visiting Columbia to 95 yards as the Big Green rolled to a 56-0 win in Hanover Saturday.

It was the largest margin of victory for Dartmouth (3-3, 2-1 Ivy) in 77 years. Columbia (0-6, 0-3 Ivy) dropped its seventh straight game dating back to last year.

Senior running back Dominick Pierre ran for 160 yards on 26 carries, including a 37-yard touchdown. He accounted for nearly half of the Green's 325 yards on the ground.

Sophomore quarterback Dalyn Williams threw for 149 yards on 11-of-18 passing. He was replaced by junior Alex Park in the third quarter.

Freshman wide receiver Jon Marc Carrier, the son of former NFL wide receiver Mark Carrier, recorded the first two scores of the game with a two-yard reverse and a 17-yard reception in the end zone.

Defensively, sophomore linebacker Will McNamara picked off a pair of passes and returned both for touchdowns.

American International 41, St. Anselm 21

At Springfield, Mass., St. Anselm was tied with AIC at halftime, 14-14, but the Yellow Jackets pulled away in the second half Saturday to drop the Hawks to 0-8.

St. Anselm led just 10 seconds into the game when quarterback Yianni Gavalas connected with Keith Charles for a 65-yard touchdown.

AIC (6-2) went ahead 14-7 with a pair of touchdowns before Charles scored from 12 yards out in the second quarter to tie the game.

The Hawks would get a third quarter touchdown from Charles (1-yard run), but it was all AIC in the second half. Charles finished with 113 rushing yards and 124 receiving. Gavalas has 305 passing yards.

Framingham State 41, Plymouth State 9

At Framingham, Mass., the Framingham State defense forced a pair of turnovers and held Plymouth State (1-6) to just three field goals on 112 yards of total offense Saturday.

Plymouth State got on the board first on a 39 yard field goal from junior Rob Giles (Derry) with 4:39 left in the first, hitting his first of three field goals on the day.

On PSU's final six offensive possessions the Rams forced a three and out each time and twice held the Panthers to negative yards.

Plymouth State quarterback Ryan Perron (Concord) went 6-for-16 with two interceptions.
