BEDFORD — Bedford’s Rachel Philbrick scored the winning goal in the 66th minute to lift the Bedford girls’ soccer team past Manchester Central 2-1 in a regular-season finale.
The win assured the Bulldogs of Division I’s No. 3 seed for the upcoming tournament, which starts next Wednesday.
Central went up 1-0 on a penalty kick by Devin Lacroix in the 12th minute. The kick was awarded when a Bedford defender stopped a shot with her hands.
But Bedford responded just two minutes later with a goal by Johanna Celli on a crisp pass from Anna Bogursky.
Philbrick scored from point-blank range to win it.
