Krejci's last-second goal the winner for Bruins

BOSTON - David Krejci scored the game-winner with eight-tenths of a second remaining in the third period as the Boston Bruins beat visiting San Jose 2-1 on Thursday for the Sharks' first regular-season loss.

Jarome Iginla added his first goal since joining the Bruins and Tuukka Rask made 38 saves as Boston won its fourth straight. Krejci redirected defenseman Adam McQuaid's booming shot as the clock ran doww.

Patrick Marleau scored his eighth goal and Antti Niemi made 15 saves for the Sharks, who dropped to 1-1-0 on their five-game road trip.

Krejci parked himself in the slot in the final seconds and got just enough of the puck to keep McQuaid's shot from sailing wide and push it between the pads before the horn.

The Bruins put just 10 shots on goal in the first two periods to San Jose's 25 but managed to push across the only goal. Defenseman Dennis Seidenberg sent the puck toward the crease and Iginla won the scrum in front of the net for his first goal of the season with 1:12 left in the second period.

The Sharks needed only 18 seconds in the third period to even things. Rask stopped Logan Couture's shot but let the rebound trickle away, where Marleau pounced on it and put it in the open net.NOTEBOOK: Bruins RW Loui Eriksson, who suffered a concussion when hit by Buffalo's John Scott in Wednesday's game, missed the game and is out indefinitely. Scott was suspended indefinitely.

and was invited to an in-person hearing with the NHL to review his illegal hit.
