Hooksett cancels Oct. 29 forum on school contracts
HOOKSETT - The Hooksett School Board voted Tuesday to cancel a public forum scheduled for Oct. 29 and to instead hold a public information night on Nov. 25.
Board Chairman Trisha Korkosz said that the date was changed after Superintendent Charles Littlefield informed the board that a sending contract with Pinkerton Academy and Memorandums of Understanding with other towns, such as Londonderry, to serve as satellite schools should be finalized by then.
Korkosz said that the format for the informational night is one where the district's administration will give presentations on the concept of an anchor school with satellites, what assignments for current eighth graders will be, what assignments for current seventh graders and subsequent years will be, special education assignments, and discussions on the transportation plan, which is still being developed, and which school will constitute base tuition. After the presentations Korkosz said that there will be a question and answer period for the public...Korkosz also said that at the next regularly scheduled School Board meeting on Nov. 5 the board will discuss high school assignment policy and transportation, and during the Nov. 19 meeting will discuss base tuition.
..'We might even have contracts to present then,' Korkosz said.
