UNH pool among 'Seven to Save'

The outdoor pool at UNH has generated significant attention in recent months amid safety concerns raised by the university that could lead to the pool's imminent closure and replacement.A group of citizens has organized the 'Friends of the UNH Outdoor Pool' in an effort to save it. A meeting between the university and residents is supposed to be held this fall to discuss the issue.
'The fact that the UNH outdoor pool was selected speaks well of it's historic significance to the state of New Hampshire,' Durham Administrator Todd Selig said, adding that the designation will help talks between UNH and the town about the pool.Joining the WPA-era UNH Outdoor Pool on this year's list of Seven to Save are the unique, circular Gas Holder building in Concord, Kimball Castle in Gilford, Boscawen's old public library, the Kimball-Jenkins Estate in Concord, the Sanborn Seminary in Kingston and grange buildings in Pittsburg, Plainfield and statewide.
