Peterborough student brings loaded gun to school


PETERBOROUGH – A Contoocook Valley Regional High School student was removed from school Wednesday afternoon after he brought a loaded hand gun to campus.

Police responded to the school  around 1:15 p.m. after school administrators had been told a 14-year-old boy had a handgun, Peterborough police said in a press release Wednesday.

Police and school administrators confronted the student and found the loaded handgun. Police seized the weapon and took the student into custody.

Police said they have no information that the student had threatened anyone, brandished the firearm, or acted aggressively.?

The case remains under investigation, police said.
