Pini out as Rindge town administrator
After the meeting, Select Board member Roberta Oeser said it will be another week or so before the board makes a public statement regarding Pini.
Tuesday’s meeting was to talk to department heads, she said.
“It was basically to assure the department heads that everything was fine. And there had been no formal announcement,” Oeser said.
Oeser would not say if Pini had resigned or had been fired. She said Pini’s last day was Friday.
Former Selectman Jed Brummer said he went to the town offices Tuesday afternoon to learn more, but was told by department heads that they were still in the dark about Pini’s departure.
Wednesday night, Oct. 16, Pini was called into a non-public session with the Select Board regarding personnel issues, Brummer said.
“She didn’t resign on her own accord,” Brummer said. “It probably came as a shock to her. What was behind it, I don’t know.”
Brummer speculated the Select Board is negotiating a severance package with Pini and until that is settled neither the town nor Pini will comment.
