CONCORD - Concord police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who walked into the Burlington Coat Factory store on Storrs Street on two separate occasions and took sneakers from the shelves.
The thief switched his own shoes for the brand-new sneakers and wore them out of the store on the two visits, police said.
The first theft occurred back on Aug. 30, and it happened again with the same man on Oct. 2. Both times, the sneakers stolen were Fila Fulcrum 3 in size 10.5. The sneakers are white and retail for $29.99.
On both occasions, the man placed his own shoes in the store shoe boxes and then exited the store wearing the store's shoes. In both instances the subject did not pay for the merchandise, according to police.
The man is described as thin, white, and possibly in his late 20s or early 30s, with brown hair and a receding hair line. He appears to have tattoos on his forearms, and police said he may live within close proximity to the store since he has been seen there on several occasions.
