Nashua man charged after attempt to get gun permit in Hollis

HOLLIS — A Nashua man is charged with a misdemeanor after he tried to get a gun permit in Hollis, where he previously lived, police said.

Robert J. Cook, 50, of Orchard Drive, was arrested Sunday on a charge of unsworn falsification.

Cook's gun permit was revoked in June after he was arrested in a domestic-related incident at 55 Flint Pond Road on charges of criminal threatening and criminal mischief.

Lt. Richard Mello said in September, those charges were conditionally nol-prossed, that is prosecutors dropped them as long as Cook met certain conditions.

After the case was adjudicated, Cook sought to have his Hollis pistol permit reinstated.

Police said in a letter requesting the pistol permit, Cook listed his address as Flint Pond Road in Hollis, when he actually lived in Nashua

What's next: He is free on $1,000 personal recognizance bail pending arraignment Nov. 13 in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
