Rask sharp as Bruins blank Lightening

TAMPA, FLA. -- David Krejci, Shawn Thornton and defenseman Adam McQuaid each scored their first goals of the season and Tuukka Rask made 23 saves as visiting Boston rolled over Tampa Bay. Chris Kelly and Patrice Bergeron also scored for the Bruins, who beat the Lightning 3-1 in the season opener for each in Boston on Oct. 3.
Rask turned aside nine shots each in the first and third periods to complete his 17th career shutout and first of the season. Ben Bishop made 13 saves on 17 shots before being pulled in the second period, losing for the first time in six outings this season.
Anders Lindback turned aside 4-of-5 shots in relief for Tampa Bay, which is 3-2-0 with two games left on its homestand. Krejci moved down the middle and got his stick on Milan Lucic's feed to score only 1:32 into the contest as Boston took a 1-0 lead after one period. McQuaid doubled the advantage 4:37 into the second, ripping a shot from the top of the slot past Bishop with the help of a Jarome Iginla screen.
Bergeron took a cross-ice pass from Reilly Smith on the rush and beat Bishop from the right faceoff circle with 5:08 left in the second to make it 3-0. Kelly worked his way to the left of the net and scored his third goal of the season off a feed from Brad Marchand only 55 seconds later for the Bruins.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Rask boasts shutouts in two of his last three games against Tampa Bay and allowed only one goal in the other. ... The Lightning scratched RW Brett Connolly after the former sixth-overall pick in 2010 made his season debut on Thursday. ... Bruins F Carl Soderberg returned from an ankle injury and was one of twelve different Boston players with one point in his first game of the season.
