UPDATE: Driver charged with DWI following Manchester crash

MANCHESTER - Police say the driver involved in a serious crash late Friday night has been charged with drunk driving and could face additional charges.

According to police, Andriy Pasitcznyk, 33, was driving east on Bridge Street Extension around 11:20 p.m. when his car left the road, struck several objects and then rolled over.

Both Pasitczynk and his passenger, Richard Hunter, 54, of Manchester, were seriously injured and taken by ambulance to Elliot Hospital, according to a press release.

Police said both speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.

Pasitczynk was charged with DWI and will appear in court at a later date.

Police said additional charges may be forthcoming. They asked anyone with information on the crash to call police at 668-8711.
