Police: Vt. mom left baby in motel while out drinking, driving in Hampton
HAMPTON — A 21-year-old mother had left her baby alone in a motel room Saturday night, when she was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated in town, police said. Tawnya Herrick, of Rutland, Vt., allegedly took the vehicle from a person she had met that night, without that person's consent, before she was stopped in traffic on Ocean Boulevard near K Street at about 11:45 p.m. Oct. 12, said Hampton police Lt. Dan Gidley.
