TILTON – Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who they say robbed a Tanger Outlet store Tuesday night.
Police Chief Robert Cormier said officers responded to a robbery at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Store at 120 Laconia Road, at about 7:35 p.m.
According to police, a man entered the store, had the clerk open the register and removed all the cash.
Once he had all the money from the register, he fled toward the rear of the outlets, Cormier said.
The man is white, 25-30 years old, with a height of 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, police said.
Cormier said the man had a beard and was wearing ball cap, a hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans.
Police searched the area with a police dog but could not find the man, Cormier said.
"The suspect is still outstanding," Cormier said Tuesday night.
No one was injured, he said.
Police ask anyone seeing someone who fits the description or who saw anything suspicious near the Tanger Outlets between 7 and 7:30 p.m., to call Tilton police at 286-4442, or the TIP Crime Line, 855-286-6565.
Several stores in town have been robbed in the past year, including the Tilton Shop Express at 622 Laconia Road in August and the Stafford Food and Beverage Store at 311 West Main St. last December.
The Tanger Mall was robbed on Nov. 4, 2011, when three men wearing Halloween masks, jeans and hooded sweatshirts made off with $200,000 in gold and diamond jewelry from the Kay Jewelers.
