Police seek information on stolen Honda Civic

MANCHESTER — A 1998 Honda Civic, reported stolen Tuesday night from a rear parking lot on Beech Street, was found about 4:30 Wednesday morning on the railroad tracks at Mitchell Street and Brown Avenue.

Police said the vehicle was running and in gear, but had been stripped of its doors, hood and headlights.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Manchester Police at 668-8711. Anonymous tips for cash rewards can be made through Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040, or at manchestercrimeline.org.

Playground equipment fire

Manchester Police responded to the Central Little League field at 380 Lincoln St. at about 7:20 Tuesday night for a playground equipment fire.

The Manchester Fire Department put out the fire that had engulfed a large plastic tunnel slide. The fire is suspicious in origin and witnesses reported seeing several juveniles in the area just before the fire.

One of the teens was described as a white male, riding a scooter, wearing a black sweatshirt and black “DC” sneakers with green laces. The other two teens were described as black males, wearing black hooded sweatshirts, riding on skateboards.
