College Football: Dartmouth knocks off previously unbeatean Yale

Senior running back Dominick Pierre rushed for 167 yards and scored the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter to lead Dartmouth to a 20-13 Homecoming win over previously unbeaten Yale on Saturday in Hanover.

The Big Green bounced back in a big way from last week's 37-31, four overtime loss at Penn.

Dartmouth evened its overall record at 2-2 and its Ivy League mark at 1-1. Yale fell to 3-1 and 1-1.

The teams were tied 13-13 going into the fourth quarter and Pierre scored on a 6-yard run with 10:11 left to play and Riley Lyons kicked the conversion.

Dartmouth got the ball back, but Lyons missed on 32-yard field goal.

The Big Green defense then came up with a fumble recovery - Chase Womack caused it and Mike Banaciski got the ball - to end Yale's final possession.

Sophomore quarterback Dalyn Williams completed 14 of his 30 passes for 188 yards and a pair of Dartmouth touchdowns. He threw one interception.

Dartmouth opened the scoring when Williams connected with tight end Cole Marcoux for a 9-yard score on the first play of the second quarter. Yale blocked the conversion kick.

The Bulldogs answered with a touchdown and a couple of field goals to take a 13-6 lead.

The Big Green pulled even with 7:05 left in the third period when Williams and Bo Patterson teamed up for a 32-yard TD.

Pierre carried 37 times for his 167 yards and also had four catches for 63 yards. A 4-yard run early in the third quarter put him over 2,000 rushing yards for his career.
