UPDATE: Motorcycle passenger identified in Salem accident
SALEM — A motorcycle passenger was seriously injured Monday afternoon when the motorcycle on which she was riding collided with a motor vehicle at the intersection of Route 111 and Ermer Road.
Police and fire personnel responded to the scene shortly before 4 p.m., said Capt. Timothy Kenney of the Salem Fire Department.
Injured was Susan Dionne, 51, of Winchendon, Mass., who was taken to Lawrence (Mass.) General Hospital, then transported by helicopter to a Boston hospital. Police said she had severe lower leg injuries.
Police said a 2002 Pontiac minivan operated by David Beshara, 54, of Derry, collided with the 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle on which Dionne was a passenger. Driving that motorcycle was Jay Treshinsky, 57, of Winchendon, Mass.
Salem police are seeking witnesses to the crash and ask that they call Officer John O’Donnell at 893-1911. Police would like to speak with the operator of a full-size black Chevrolet or Dodge pickup truck that made a U-turn at the intersection of Ermer Road and Route 111 immediately before the crash.
