Police seekman who robbed Crosstown Variety store in Manchester

MANCHESTER -- Police are searching for a man they say robbed the Crosstown Variety store Saturday afternoon.

Police said a man, described as 6 feet, 2 inches to 6 feet, 3 inches tall with a thin build, brown eyes and a goatee wearing a green winter hat and blue jeans, asked a clerk for rolling papers then demanded that the clerk empty the register.

He was given cash, two packs of cigarettes and a glass pipe with white and blue streaks on it, police said, before fleeing the store on foot in an easterly direction.

The man told the clerk he had a gun but never showed one, police said. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 668-8711 or the Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040.

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
