MANCHESTER — A 66-year-old woman told police she was knocked down by a man at her home after running errands, and the man took her groceries and purse.
Police said the woman put down her groceries at the door of her Jewett Street home when she was pushed from behind Wednesday afternoon and fell to the ground. Police said when she got up, the groceries and her purse were gone. The purse included cash, credit cards and medication.
The man was described as Hispanic, about 5-foot-7 with a stocky build and wearing a brown sweatshirt. Children in the area reported seeing him scale a fence.
