W.S. Badger recalls sunscreen lotion
GILSUM — W.S. Badger Co. Inc., a Gilsum-based maker of natural and organic body care products, is recalling its 4-ounce SPF 30 Baby Sunscreen Lotion and one lot of its 4-ounce SPF 30 Kids Sunscreen Lotion due to microbial contamination.
The products were tested and found to be contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida parapsilosis and Acremonium fungi, according to a notice about the voluntary recall posted at fda.gov.
No adverse reactions have been reported in connection with these products, the release said.
Both sunscreens are sold in the United States, in Canada online and at major retailers as well as independent food co-ops and pharmacies. The product can be identified by matching the UPC with the Lot code, which can be found on the top front of the tube crimp.
The affected lots include the following:
• SPF 30 Baby Sunscreen Lotion 4oz with UPC codes 634084490091 and 634084490114, lot numbers 3024A, 3057B, 3063A, 3063B, 3132A and 3133A.
• SPF 30 Kids Sunscreen Lotion with UPC codes 634084490145 and 634084490169, lot numbers 3164A.
