Tilton-Northfield Fire District to begin search for new chief

Chief Bradley Ober of the Tilton-Northfield Fire District has resigned to take a job as deputy fire chief in Gilford, fire commissioners announced Tuesday.

“We appreciate all that the chief has accomplished in his three years of tenure and wish him well in his new position as deputy fire chief in Gilford,” said Commissioner Paul Auger.

Commissioners unanimously agreed to appoint Deputy Chief Michael Robinson as the interim chief and to appoint Capt. Timothy Joubert as interim deputy chief.

“We are confident that these two seasoned veterans can carry on the day-to-day activities of the department while a search ensues for a new full-time chief,” said Auger.

Commissioners will use a search committee comprised of residents from Tilton and Northfield, representatives of the Lakes Region mutual aid community and select board members from both towns to help find a new chief.
