Timberlane to get new scoreboard

September 23. 2013 8:58PM

PLAISTOW -- By the end of the football season, the Timberlane Regional High School team could be seeing their scores up on a new scoreboard at the field.

Last week, the regional School Board approved spending $1,400 to complete the installation of the scoreboard.

In April, the board unanimously approved the donation of the scoreboard from the football boosters’ club. The club raised the $17,000 to buy the scoreboard, as well as $12,000 toward the total $13,400 installation cost.

Superintendent Earl Metzler said the scoreboard has been ordered and should be installed before football season is over.

“We are hoping to get a game or two in for the fall and it will certainly be there for the spring sports,” he said.

Mosquito spraying planned for tonight

PLAISTOW -- Dragon Mosquito Control will be spraying for mosquitoes at several locations in town this evening.

Because of EEE and West Nile virus found in mosquitoes in surrounding towns, the Brentwood company will be conducting the spraying to control adult mosquitoes from 5 to 9 p.m. at Timberlane middle and high schools, the Pollard Elementary School, Smith Field, the Vic Geary Senior Center and the PARC recreation field.

No townwide spraying is scheduled, and anyone with concerns or questions can contact the Plaistow Health Department at 382-2494.
