Nancy Pond Trail work compeleted in Bretton Woods; October event planned


BRETTON WOODS — Officials of the National Forest Foundation and the U.S. Forest Service will discuss completion of the first portion of their conservation campaign for the White Mountain National Forest next month.

Through the support of local businesses, foundations and individuals, the NFF and partners have completed the post-Tropical Storm Irene restoration work on the Nancy Pond Trail complex. they said in a news release regarding the project they call “Treasured Landscapes, Unforgettable Experiences.”

The Oct. 4 event is open to the public and will take place from 9:15 a.m. to noon at the Bretton Woods Ski Area.

Those who plan to attend are asked to be at the Omni Mt. Washington lobby in time for the 9:30 shuttles to the ski area.

A new Nancy Pond Trail sign will be presented to White Mountain National Forest staff to celebrate the completion of the Nancy Pond Trail work, officials said.
