Clifton Scott, 79, of Stewartstown was killed after his off-highway recreational vehicle rolled off a downhill turn on the Dixville Peaks Trail in Dixville on Saturday afternoon.
Rescue workers attempted life-saving measures. Police said Scott was wearing a helmet. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Just over an hour earlier, David Howe, 40, of Colebrook was killed when his ATV rolled over on South Hill Road. That crash is under investigation by Colebrook police.
Colebrook Fire and Rescue workers and 45th Parallel EMS crews responded to both accidents.
A Wakefield, Mass., teen was transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston Saturday evening suffering from serious injuries after hitting a tree in Brentwood with his dirt bike. He was thrown from the vehicle at 5:20 p.m. The accident occurred on a private course in the woods off Route 125 in Brentwood.
According to New Hampshire Fish and Game officials, the teen was out riding with two of his friends. The Brentwood ambulance, police and fire departments responded.
Conservation officers are investigating the cause of the crash, but early indications are that alcohol was not a factor. The teen was wearing a helmet and protective goggles.
