West Lebanon lights 9-foot flares to burn off dump's stinking methane, hydrogen sulfide
West Lebanon — The aroma of rotten eggs may soon be disappearing from the air of West Lebanon. The city landfill this week installed three, 9-foot temporary flares to burn off methane and hydrogen sulfide gases that originate in the landfill and are noticeable as they waft over the Upper Valley’s most popular commercial strip.
