Woman hurt in Rochester hit-and-run accident

ROCHESTER — A Somersworth woman was seriously injured Thursday when she was struck by a sports-utility vehicle in what police said was a hit-and-run accident.

Police said Katherine Littlefield, 25, was crossing North Main Street in a crosswalk shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday when she was hit by a black Nissan Pathfinder. The driver of the truck fled the scene, police said.

Littlefield was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, though police said her condition was not known as of 10 p.m. Thursday.

Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call them at 330-7128 or anonymously by calling the Rochester Crimeline at 335-6500.
