US Foods plans move from Mass. to Seabrook
US Foods, one of the nation’s largest food distributors, made an informal presentation regarding plans to move their Peabody, Mass., facility to the former Poland Springs warehouse building on Ledge Road.
The company said they plan to invest about $40 million into site acquisition and improvements, Manzi said.
“Obviously it is very exciting for Seabrook and for New Hampshire as well,” Manzi said. “It will bring jobs, good jobs, with benefits, health care and good pay.”
Seabrook is well-positioned for the move because of the space availability and its proximity to Interstate 95, Manzi said.
Reached by phone on Thursday, John Glynn, president of US Foods Boston division, referred all questions to the corporate communications office in Rosemont, Ill. Calls to that office were not immediately returned on Thursday.
