PETERBOROUGH - A motorist died in a Route 202 crash Wednesday morning that involved a PSNH truck.

Jeffrey A. Sawin, 57, of Jaffrey, was traveling northbound on Route 202 in a 2010 Subaru when his car crossed the center line and collided with a southbound PSNH truck driven by Robert Edick, 56 of Dublin, Peterborough police said in a press release.

Sawin was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries he suffered in the collision, police said.

Edick was not injured.

The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. near Cabana Drive.

According to PSNH, the two PSNH employees were evaluated at a local hospital and later released.

"PSNH expresses its condolences to family and friends of the accident victim. The company will cooperate fully with the investigation into the accident, and will refer all questions to local law enforcement," PSNH said in a statement.
