Mass. man arrested in Nashua perfume caper

NASHUA – A Bay State man is charged with taking more than $6,000 worth of perfume in two separate thefts last year at Abercrombie and Fitch.

In the first incident, on Oct. 12, 72 bottles of the cologne "Fierce," worth $3,888 were taken. Eighteen days later, another 40 bottles of the same cologne worth $2,160, were stolen from the store.

An investigation led police to Andy Rodriguez, 39, of 17 Thornton Avenue Apartments in Lawrence, Mass.  Lt. Denis Linehan said investigators are looking for a second person they believe helped him in the shoplifting incidents.

Rodriguez was arrested yesterday on two counts of theft, both class A felonies.

What's next: Rodriguez is being detained on $10,000 cash bail pending arraignment today in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
