Hooksett man arrested for threatening friend with knife

HOOKSETT — A Hooksett man was arrested Sunday after police say he displayed a knife during a confrontation.

Hooksett police were called to 8 Whitehall Terrace at 4:17 p.m. Sunday on a report of two men arguing, with one displaying a knife. Upon arrival police separated the two, then located and seized a 4-inch butterfly knife in the garage.

Hooksett police say Matthew Jackson, 23, of Hooksett displayed the butterfly knife in a threatening manner towards the victim, who they described as a longtime friend, while telling him that he needed to leave. No injuries were reported during the argument.

Jackson was arrested and charged with criminal threatening, a class “B” felony. He was released on $7,000 personal recognizance, with arraignment in the Sixth Circuit Court in Hooksett scheduled for Oct. 9.
