CHESTERFIELD — A Keene man suffered life-threatening injuries and a Massachusetts man suffered serious injuries in a head-on collision on Route 9 Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to Route 9 at Atherton Hill Road at about 4:15 p.m. for the two-car crash.
Michael Cady, 46, of Agawam, Mass., was driving a 2000 Subaru Forester westbound on Route 9 when he saw a vehicle stopped in front of him waiting to make a left turn onto Atherton Hill Road, police said.

Cady was taken to Cheshire Medical/Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital-Keene with serious injuries. Delvecchio was airlifted to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., with life-threatening injuries, but was in stable condition, police said.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage.
Chesterfield police were assisted at the scene by state police, Spofford Rescue, Chesterfield Rescue and Keene Rescue.
The collision is still under investigation.
