Peterborough EMT drug case awaits grand jury

KEENE — The former Peterborough Fire & Rescue clinical director arrested for alleging stealing medication stored on ambulances waived his right to a probable cause hearing Tuesday.

On Aug. 3, Jeremy Bouchard, 34, of Antrim was arrested and charged with felony level possession and theft of Fentanyl and morphine stocked by Monadnock Community Hospital in town ambulances.

Bouchard has filed a not guilty plea. The case is bound over to the Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester, a court clerk said Tuesday. A grand jury will consider possible indictment.

After Bouchard’s arrest Peterborough town officials placed him on paid leave.

He continued to draw his $54,000 annual salary. On Aug. 9, Bouchard resigned his position.

The state Division of Fire Standards and Training and Emergency Medical Services suspended his paramedic license following his arrest. State officials had also suspended his license for three months last March.
