Manchester police believe same man responsible for overnight robberies

Police believe the same man robbed the Courtyard Marriott, 700 Huse Road, Monday night, then robbed Irving gas station, 20 Roundstone Drive, between Raymond Wieczorek Drive and Hazelton Avenue. He is shown above entering the lobby of the Marriott and below at the gas station.

MANCHESTER – Police are looking for a man they believe robbed a hotel and gas station overnight Monday and may be the culprit behind another hotel robbery on Saturday morning and a pharmacy holdup last month.

No one was hurt in any of the robberies.

The latest robberies happened at the Courtyard Marriott, 700 Huse Road, and at the Irving gas station, 20 Roundstone Drive, between Raymond Wieczorek Drive and Hazelton Avenue.

A man with a bandanna covering his face entered the Marriott just before midnight, approached the front desk and announced it was a robbery. The clerk said the robber did not mention or show a gun.

Police said the robber waited calmly at the desk as the clerk pulled out the cash drawer and put it on the counter. The robber removed the cash and walked out of the hotel with it.

He is described as a white male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt over a white T-shirt, the length of which fell below the waist of the hooded sweatshirt. He also wore blue jeans and white sneakers and had the hood up over a dark ball cap. A dark-colored bandanna covered his face, and he wore a dark backpack. No weapon was shown.

About 3 ½ hours later, at 3:30 a.m. the Irving gas station was robbed. The clerk told police the man entered the store, demanded money and lifted his shirt to reveal a silver handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants.

After obtaining the money, the robber left the store on foot, heading toward the rear of the building. A witness reported seeing a four-door, gray sedan stopped on a nearby off-ramp, but police do not know if it is connected to the robbery.

The gas station robber is described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt over a dark-colored ball cap, blue jeans and white sneakers. He had a dark bandanna over his face and carried a black backpack.

Police said the description of the robber in both incidents bears a close resemblance and it is possible the crimes are related.

Investigators also believe the same man may be responsible for two other robberies: the Sheraton Four Points, 55 John Devine Drive, that was robbed Saturday morning and the Aug. 26 robbery of Rite-Aid on Elm Street.

Anyone with information concerning any of the robberies is asked to call police at 624-4040 or, to remain anonymous, call Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040 or online at manchestercrimeline.org.
