NHIAA Roundup: Exeter field hockey team edges Londonderry

Jordan Teixeira scored the game-winning goal with 33 seconds left in the game to lead Exeter to a 2-1 Division I field hockey win against host Londonderry Monday. Jackie Curtin of Londonderry (1-2) scored her team’s only goal with nine seconds left in the first half on a penalty stroke.

Exeter’s Emma Brown tallied the equalizer at 39:19 into the second half. Londonderry goalie Samantha Harris had 13 saves while Exeter netminder

Bishop Guertin 1, Dover 0: After a scoreless first half, Kristin Cameron scored the lone goal (unassisted) with 20 minutes remaining in the game. Bishop Guertin improved to 1-1 while Dover fell to 0-3.
Salem 6, Bedford 0: Erika Smith scored two goals and Kelsey Collins, Lizzy Twomey, Allie Sirmaian and Rachael Denning all added single goals for Salem (3-0).

Amanda Travaglini added two assists. Goalkeeper Meaghan Williams made two saves for the shutout.

Bedford fell to 2-1.
Winnacunnet 10, Nashua South 0: At Hampton, Winnacunnet improved to 3-0 behind Megan Chase who scored three goals. Taylor Frothingham stopped 44 shots for Nashua South (0-3).

Girls’ soccer

Sunapee 5, Moultonborough 2: Taylor O’Mara, Rose Webb, Taylor Usko staked Sunapee (3-0) to an early 3-0 lead. Moultonborough (2-1) made it a game with two goals in the second half, but Usko and Meg Clarenbach scored late for Sunapee to put it away.
Newmarket 5, Hinsdale 0: Eloise Davenport, Gigi Dubois, Katrina Holmes, and Jasmine Whitman scored for Newmarket (4-0). Maddie Teague and Anna Valinski split the shutout win in net. Hinsdale (0-2) had an own goal to account for the 5-0 final.

Boys’ soccer

Lebanon 3, John Stark 0: Martin Gradijan, Will Merchant and Tate Singleton tallied goals for Lebanon (2-0). Jeff Purdy added two assists. Stark fell to 1-3.
Moultonborough 1, Sunapee 0: T.J. Marchaund scored the lone goal to push Moultonborough to the win with a goal with 13 minutes remaining.

Volleyball

Inter-Lakes 3, John Stark 0: In Meredith, senior middle hitter Jordan Donahue led the way with her 500th career kill. She is the first player in program history to achieve the milestone.
Trinity 3, Raymond 0: At Raymond, Amanda Torres led the Pioneers with a streak of 15 straight serves. Elizabeth Graveline also had three blocks and two kills for Trinity (1-1). Jackie O’Connell contributed many digs and played well on defense in the win.
Bishop Guertin 3, Keene 0: At Keene in the opener for both teams, Kasey Massicotte led the Cardinals with 10 aces and nine assists. Lexie Cambray also contributed four kills and teammate Paige Parkinson added four kills for BG.
Concord 3, Londonderry 1: Concord won by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 and 25-18. Lauren Hatch (10 kills), Caitlin Shea (20 assists) and Heidi Bretou (four aces, four kills) led Concord. Belmont 3, Franklin 0: Belmont (2-0) won by scores of 25-9, 25-13 and 25-12. Senior captains Megan Bailey (15 aces, one kill, 24 assists) and Jessie Bergeron (three aces, two kills, two assists, four digs) led the way.
