CONCORD - State revenues were $4 million ahead of schedule for August as the first two months of the 2014 fiscal year are well ahead of estimates.To date, state revenues total $238.4 million, $32.2 million more than estimates, or an increase of 15.6 percent.For August - not a large revenue month -revenues were $107 million, up $4.1 million over estimates, or an increase of 4 percent.The tobacco tax continues its strong showing as retailers and wholesalers purchased tax stamps ahead of the 10-cent-a-pack increase Aug. 1.
