Fisher Cats lose, eliminated from playoff contention

Travis Taijeron's two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning broke up Deck McGuire's no-hitter and led Binghamton to a 3-0 win over the Fisher Cats on Friday night, ending New Hampshire's run at an Eastern League playoff spot.

The Fisher Cats fell to 67-71 for the season and were officially eliminated from playoff contention.

McGuire went six and two-thirds innings and allowed two hits, struck out seven and walked four.

Eastern Division-leading Binghamton scored all three of its runs in the sixth inning. The first scored on a McGuire wild pitch.

The Fisher Cats close out the season with games at Binghamton Saturday night and Sunday and Monday afternoons.

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
