Portsmouth police seek hit and run driver who hit motorcycllist


PORTSMOUTH — Police are looking for the driver of a car that hit a motorcyclist and drove away from the scene of the crash.

Police said Brian Sloan, 44, of Portsmouth, was stopped at a red light at the interesection of Maplewood Avenue and Hanover Street about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a car described as a tan or brown sedan with a New Hampshire license plate with 348 as its first three numbers.

The car hit Sloan's motorcycle, backed up, performed a U-turn and drove away on Islingston Street. The driver was described as a white man in his 20s with a crew cut hairstyle.

Sloan was not injured in the accident.
