Update: 82 year old woman dies in I-93 crash in Canterbury; motorist killed in Loudon accident

Two people were killed late Monday afternoon in separate accidents between 5 and 6 p.m. on Interstate 93 in Canterbury and on Route 106 in Loudon.

A police spokesperson said an 82-year-old woman died when her car left the northbound lane of Interstate 93 in Canterbury, just beyond Exit 18, a few miles short of the rest area, at about 5 p.m.

Police said the woman's BMW sedan went off the road onto the left shoulder, hit a rock and rolled over several times before landing on its roof.

The victim's name has not been released because extended family members have not been notified. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person died in an accident on Route 106 in Loudon shortly after 5:30 p.m., a police spokesperson said. The name of that victim and details of the accident have not been released.
