Pharmacy, gas station robbed in Manchester

MANCHESTER – Police are investigating two robberies, one early Monday morning at an Elm Street pharmacy and the other late Friday night at a gas station, also on Elm Street.

No weapon was shown in today’s early morning robbery of Rite Aid, 1631 Elm St. The clerk told police the man entered the store about 6:20 a.m., went directly to the registers and demanded money. He took cash from the first register and tried to get money from a second register before fleeing the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The thief is described as a thin, white man, about 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11. He was wearing a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a gray Jansport backpack. He wore sunglasses and had a blue bandanna covering his face.

The other robbery happened about 10:30 p.m. Friday at Energy Gas, 276 Elm St.

The clerk told police a man entered the store, took out a gun and demanded cash.

The robber is described as a white man, about 20 to 30 years old, 5-feet to 5-foot-6 with a medium build and short, light-colored hair.

He wore a black jacket or sweater, black pants and a black baseball cap. He wore a gray and white checkered bandanna around his neck, but it did not cover his face.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call police at 668-8711. Anonymous tips for cash rewards may be made through Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040 or online at

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
