Seven arrests at government roadblock in Bow

BOW - State Police say they got five intoxicated drivers off the road at a government roadblock Saturday night.

The checkpoint, on Route 3A and Hall Street near the ramp to Interstate route 89, resulted in seven total arrests. In addition to the drunken driving suspects, one of whom was also charged with possession of drugs, one motorist was charged with a subsequent offense of driving after suspension and another for possessing drugs. One person was deemed to require placement in protective custody until the effects of their alleged intoxication were sufficiently diminished.

Those arrested will face charges in Concord District Court. Police said 180 vehicles were stopped at checked at the roadblock.
