Committee transfers more than $100,000 to cover inmate medical costs of two inmates
DOVER — The man hospitalized after attempting suicide this year is no longer considered suicidal, but due to his hospital stay, the county is facing a bill of $88,960. The woman who stayed at the hospital for 23 days had a pre-existing condition that was not related to suicide, said Bower. Her medical bill would have cost the county $145,273, but after learning that the woman had insurance, the county officials worked with Wentworth-Douglas Hospital, and the bill was reduced to $4,000, said Bower.
