Exeter auto shop owner turned down $1 million from Stop & Shop, has no regrets

EXETER — Rob Abounaja turned down a $1 million offer from Stop & Shop 10 years ago to move his auto repair business as the grocery chain prepared to open its new superstore off Portsmouth Avenue. Stop & Shop abruptly closed its doors earlier this month, but Abounaja's business, Herb & Rob's Auto Clinic, has continued to thrive at the same location, but he will moving to another location in January when his 20-year lease runs out.
