Monarchs play P-Bruins in home opener


 

The Manchester Monarchs announced their full schedule Thursday for the upcoming American Hockey League season.

The Monarchs (the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings) will open the season with a four-game road trip before returning home for their opening weekend when they will host the Providence Bruins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Verizon Wireless Arena.

Manchester will open its 13th AHL season on the road, starting with a game at 7 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons on Saturday, Oct. 5, followed by a 7:05 p.m. contest against the Bruins at on Friday, Oct. 11,

The Monarchs then head to Connecticut to face former assistant coach Scott Pellerin and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 and close out the road trip with a 7 p.m. game at the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday, Oct. 18.

The Monarchs Care Foundation and Norris Cotton Cancer Center will once again team up for the third annual "Mullets In Movember" game against the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. Manchester will hold their 13th annual New Year's Eve Celebration against the Bruins on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 7 p.m.

Start times for all Monarchs home games Monday through Saturday will be 7 p.m. except on Wednesday, Nov. 13 against Norfolk when the fourth annual Education Day game will begin at 10 a.m. Puck drop for all Sunday home games will be 3 p.m., as well as games against the St. John's IceCaps on Saturday, Oct. 26, the Bruins on Saturday, March 8 and the Portland Pirates on Saturday, April 5.

Individual tickets will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 9:30 a.m. and can be purchased by logging onto manchestermonarchs.com, by visiting the Verizon box office or through Ticketmaster.
