Hooksett police say man locked his keys inside car before shoplifting trip
HOOKSETT – A shoplifter made it out of K-Mart with some stolen goods Tuesday night, but had to leave his car behind when he discovered he locked his keys inside it, police said.
Nickolas Messier, 29, of Allenstown, was later arrested by Allenstown police and brought back to the Hooksett Police Department.
He is charged with felony-level willful concealment and being a convicted felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, a large knife that police said was in his car.
The incident happened about 7:20 p.m. at K-Mart on Hooksett Road. Police said Messier left the store through the garden center without paying for some electronic items.
Employees watched as he tried to put the stolen goods in his car, but he couldn't because he had locked his keys inside it, according to police. He fled, leaving the car behind.
What's next: Messier is being held at the Merrimack County jail in Boscawen pending arraignment Wednesday in 6th Circuit Court, Hooksett District Division.
