Armed man who robbed Somersworth bank sought

SOMERSWORTH - Police are searching for a man who robbed Citizen's Bank in the Washington Street Plaza about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The thief handed a teller a note claiming he was armed and police believe some sort of handgun was present during the robbery. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, no one was injured during the incident.

A K-9 team followed a trail to the railroad tracks along Main Street, but they did not locate the robber, who is described as white, about 5'6", and wearing dark blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, blue hospital-style gloves and dark sunglasses.
